Fernando Jimeno, MD is a highly respected Pediatric Neurosurgeon with over two decades of experience specializing in plagiocephaly and craniosynostosis. He currently serves as Chief of the Pediatric Neurosurgery Department at  Clínica del Country in Bogotá, Colombia, where he has been a cornerstone of pediatric neurosurgical care since 1999. In addition to his leadership role, he has also practiced at Clínica del Niño and Clínica Pediátrica La Magdalena, shaping the standard of neurosurgical care for children in the region.

Dr. Jimeno earned his medical degree and completed his neurosurgical training at the Universidad del Rosario in Bogotá. He then pursued advanced fellowship training in the Pediatric Neurosurgery Department at Miami Children’s Hospital in 1998, where he refined his expertise in complex craniofacial and neurosurgical procedures.

He is an active member and leader in numerous professional organizations, serving as a Board Member of the Latin American Association of Pediatric Neurosurgeons and maintaining memberships in the Neurosurgical Colombian Association, the Pediatric Neurosurgery Chapter of the Neurosurgical Colombian Association, the Latin American Federation of Neurosurgical Societies, as well as being an international member of both the ISPN (International Society for Pediatric Neurosurgery) and AANS (American Association of Neurological Surgeons).

Through his clinical work, leadership, and professional involvement, Dr. Jimeno has become a recognized authority in pediatric neurosurgery across Latin America.
