Amy Barrios, CPO, holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences from Southwestern Oklahoma State University and earned her certification through the Newington Certificate Program at the University of Hartford. She obtained her ABC certification in Prosthetics and Orthotics in 2012, following the completion of her residency. She brings over 13 years of clinical experience to the field, with expertise spanning prosthetics, adult and pediatric orthotics, spinal and cranial remolding orthoses, contracture management, and the integration of technologies such as scanners and functional electrical stimulation (FES).
Amy spent over a decade at Hanger Clinic, serving in multiple locations and actively participating in multidisciplinary clinics that emphasized a collaborative, team-based approach to care. She is widely recognized for her whole-patient perspective—prioritizing comprehensive well-being over isolated diagnoses. In addition to her clinical work, Amy has contributed to clinical white papers and a literature review for the Journal of Prosthetics and Orthotics, reflecting her dedication to advancing evidence-based practices in the field.
Amy currently serves as Product Manager, Digital Clinical Applications at Orthomerica, leading product development of SmartSoc and Starscanner while also supporting certified practitioners providing cranial treatment. By collaborating with clinicians, engineers, and software developers, she ensures that innovative technologies are both practical and clinically relevant, bridging patient care with digital solutions to shape the future of orthotics and prosthetics.
